Principal's Message

Parents & Guardians,
Welcome to South View Elementary!

The South View Staff, parents, and community work together to provide a supportive learning environment that enables students to value education, perform at their personal best and to develop skills to help the student achieve their goals.

South View has incorporated ideas and strategies from the PBIS (Positive Behavior Initiatives Supports) model which allows students to see what the appropriate behaviors are expected in school.  We are Stars at South View. Our students use STAR behavior at school. STAR stands for: S= Stay focused, T= Try your best, A= Act safely, and R=Respect others. Our Stars work hard each day to give their all. We want our students to come to school knowing that we care about them and want to help them strive to be their best.

We have continued with the new assessment for our kindergarten through 5th grade students which is NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association). This assessment is given at the beginning of the year, middle of the year and the end of the year.  This allows us to identify areas that our students are doing well in and the skills we need to re-teach to help our students master the skill. The NWEA took the place of Acuity that our 3rd through 5th grade students have taken in the past and Mclass for our kindergarten through 2nd grade students.

South View has excellent staff who care for our children and are always working hard each and every day for our students. Teachers, staff, families and the community must work together to help our students have the best opportunity for a successful future. Thank you to all of our South View families for your continued support.

Educationally yours,

Mrs. Miller
