Principal's Message

Welcome to South View Elementary!

The South View Staff, parents, and community work together to provide a supportive learning environment that enables students to value education, perform at their personal best and to develop skills to help the student achieve their goals.

South View has incorporated ideas and strategies from PBIS (Positive Behavior Initiatives Supports)  which allows students to see what the appropriate behaviors are expected in school.  We are Stars at South View. Our students use STAR behavior at school. STAR stands for: S= Stay focused, T= Try your best, A= Act safely, and R=Respect others. Our Stars work hard each day to give their all. We want our students to come to school knowing that we care about them and want to help them strive to be their best.

This school year we will continue with NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) assessment for all kindergarten through 5th grade students. This assessment is given at the beginning of the year, middle of the year and the end of the year.  This allows us to identify areas that our students are doing well in and the skills we need to re-teach to help our students master the skill. We use the data from the assessments to guide our instruction to best serve our students.

South View has excellent staff who care for our students and are working hard each and every day to help them achieve their goals. Teachers, staff, families and the community must work together to help our students have the best opportunity for a successful future. Thank you to all of our South View families. staff and our community for your continued support.

Educationally yours,

Mrs. Miller
